Paris
Paris is walkable in sections rather than end to end, with each arrondissement holding its own market streets, cafés and museums. The Seine splits the city into a monumental right bank and a denser, older left bank, and the Métro closes the gaps. Four days covers the major museums and two or three neighbourhoods without rushing.

Top things to do
Eiffel Tower
Entrance €35.30 · VerifiedParis
The 330-metre iron tower built for the 1889 World's Fair, with lift and stair access to two viewing levels and a summit platform over the Champ de Mars. Designed by Gustave Eiffel's engineering company, it was meant to stand for only 20 years and was saved partly because of its value as a radio antenna. It remains the defining landmark of the Paris skyline.
Louvre Museum
Entrance €6 · VerifiedParis
The former royal palace holding Egyptian, Near Eastern, Greek and European collections, entered through the glass pyramid in the main courtyard. It is the world's most-visited art museum, home to the Mona Lisa, the Venus de Milo and the Winged Victory of Samothrace. The collection is too large to see in one visit, so most visitors plan around a few wings.
Montmartre
Free entry · VerifiedParis
The hilltop quarter around Sacré-Cœur, with stepped lanes, small squares and a view across the rooftops of northern Paris. The hilltop village is crowned by the Sacré-Cœur basilica. It was home to artists including Picasso and Toulouse-Lautrec, and painters still work in the Place du Tertre.
Musée d'Orsay
Entrance €16 · VerifiedParis
A converted Beaux-Arts railway station on the Seine holding the national collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist painting. The museum occupies a former Beaux-Arts railway station opened in 1900. It holds one of the largest collections of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist art, with works by Monet, Renoir, Degas and Van Gogh.
