Dublin
Dublin is a walkable Georgian city on the Liffey, with the national museums free to enter and a pub culture that is genuinely local outside the Temple Bar block. Trinity College and its library anchor the centre, and the coastal DART line reaches fishing villages and cliff walks in half an hour. Two days is enough before heading west.
