The road from Vlorë to the Riviera climbs to just over 1,000 m at Llogara before dropping to the sea in a series of hairpins, with a view along the whole Ionian coast. The pine forest at the top is a national park with short walking trails, and the ridge is Albania's main paragliding site. It is a stop rather than a base, but the best single view on the coastal drive.
