Ubud
Ubud is Bali's cultural centre, set inland among rice terraces and river gorges, with daily dance performances, temple ceremonies and a dense wellness industry. Traffic on the main streets is heavy, but ten minutes out the rice fields and valleys start. It works as the base for the island's central volcanoes and waterfalls.
