A fishing village on a sheltered bay below the Reinebringen ridge, the archetypal Lofoten view. Red and white rorbu cabins stand on stilts over the water, many of them now rented to visitors, and wooden racks of drying cod line the shore from late winter into early summer. The village sits on the E10 at the western end of the Lofoten road, about an hour from the ferry port at Moskenes and roughly two and a half hours from Svolvær by car. Most visitors combine a walk around the harbour with the bridge view toward Hamnøy, a boat trip into Reinefjord or the climb up Reinebringen. Summer brings the midnight sun and the busiest roads, while February and March offer northern lights and snow covered peaks. Reine has a small shop, a few restaurants and cafés, and accommodation books out early in summer.
